GHN — An online petition launched by Richard Sands, of Southgate, MI, urges on the Obama Administration to secure funding for victims of human trafficking.

The petition at change.org, is addressed to President Barack Obama and U.S. Congress and State Legislators, asking them to ensure

proper funding for Victims of Human Trafficking. Included in the petition letter is the demand to pass the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) by the end of the year.

According to the petition letter, National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) wrote to the congressional leaders on November 2, 2012, asking them to pass congressional leaders so as to adequately fund programs to combat human trafficking and modern-day slavery.
